Actually, Furygan have been rolling out top notch biking gear for nearly 40 years, and at the time of writing this, the Furygan Vertigo textile jacket is the company’s top-of-the-range sports textile offering and provides a superb balance of comfort, safety and durability.

As soon as you pick the thing up and wear it for the first time you can literally feel the quality! On the outside the Furygan Vertigo is constructed from ‘Polyamide’ materials – the same stuff that Kevlar is made of – and is extremely strong and resistant to abrasion, whilst at the same time being light and providing good waterproofing – exactly what you need in a motorcycle jacket!

The Vertigo’s padded lining makes it ridiculously comfortable and warm and the double-zipped front keeps you sealed in against the the worst that British weather can throw at you!  On the other hand, for those few glorious global-warming days in April and October that now make up what is left of our summer, the Furygan Vertigo incorporates the company’s Air Flow System (AFS). The primary goal of a motorcycle helmet is to protect the rider’s head during an impact, although most helmets also provide additional protection such as a visor. Helmets are made in 2 main layers: hard and energy-absorbing. The hard shell spreads an impact over a larger area, while the liner absorbs energy so less is transferred to the skull & brain. There are 3 main styles of motorcycle helmet: flip-up, open-face and full-face. An open-face helmet will protect everything but the face. Full-face helmets protect the skull, plus providing protection for the lower jaw as well as the face itself. Full-face helmets offer much more protection than open-face helmets. Several manufacturers, such as Shark, AGV and Caberg, have introduced full-face helmets with a flip-up front, combining the protection of a full-face with the ease of communication and putting on/taking off that an open-face gives. As with other protective items of clothing, a brightly coloured helmet improves the rider’s visibility.
